Murmur Intelligence

Watch a murmuration and you see a shape moving across the sky. Look closer and that shape becomes thousands of birds, each moving in relation to others. Neither view tells the whole story.

Conversations have a similar quality. Thousands of voices heard together form a collective voice; a voice heard alone is only a fragment. Follow the exchanges between them and patterns begin to emerge: an idea gathering support, a disagreement dividing a community, a claim travelling between groups.

Murmur Intelligence brings these two ideas together: murmurings and murmuration. Our work moves between the individual voices and the larger patterns, listening closely enough to understand the detail and looking widely enough to see how it fits. Each scale helps us interpret the other.
